Types of foster

We match cats to fosters based on your space, schedule, and comfort level. No experience required for any of these.

Bottle babies

⏱ 24/7 for 3-5 weeks Best for: Light sleepers, work from home

Newborns who need feeding every 2 to 4 hours, around the clock. Most intense level of care; we provide formula, bottles, and full training. The reward is watching tiny lives you saved.

Mom and kittens

⏱ 4 to 8 weeks Best for: A spare bedroom, gentle observers

Mom does the hard work. You provide a quiet room and watch tiny eyes open. The kittens stay until they're weaned and old enough for adoption; mom stays a bit longer to recover.

Weaned kittens

⏱ 2 to 6 weeks Best for: Playful households, kid-friendly homes

Old enough to eat and use litter on their own. Your job is socialization, play, and getting them comfortable with humans before adoption. Often fostered in pairs.

Adult cats

⏱ 2 weeks to 3 months Best for: Quieter homes, first time fosters

Often the most overlooked. Calm, low maintenance, mostly self sufficient. Many adults just want a couch, a window, and someone who talks to them. Lowest commitment, biggest gift.

Medical recovery

⏱ 1 to 6 weeks Best for: Patient, observant fosters

Cats healing from surgery, URI, injury, or a long course of meds. We provide everything plus detailed instructions. Most just need quiet time and someone who can give pills.

Short term respite

⏱ A weekend to 2 weeks Best for: Travelers, first timers, busy schedules

Cover a regular foster while they travel, or take a transport for a week. Lowest commitment way to try fostering and see if it's a fit.
